At the end of the game the Oranje unfurled a huge banner, in Dutch but quite comprehensible to the Germans … “Grandma, we got your bicycle back.” It was a reference to how the Germans in WWII had stolen almost every bicycle in the Netherlands.
They may get to face Germany again, or perhaps Argentina (to whom they lost in ’78), but most probably Spain. This is likely to be the first World Cup outside Europe to be won by a European side.

That was dang exciting… especially all the pressure Brazil put on in the last 5 mins, even though shorthanded!
If I’m the Brazilian team, I’m not in a big hurry to get home. But I just found my favorite from here on out.
