I understand that the Northwestern team is going to take the redline to Addison. It’ll be rockin’ in Wrigleyville on Sat. I don’t know why Northwestern is afraid of the right field wall-many of their players wanted to play in the Ivy League.
My son’s HS football field was cramped like that on all 4 sides. There was one foot beyond the endzone and 9 feet of clearance on the sides of the fields. The cheerleaders were in the endzones and occasionally failed to get out of the way. It was fun to watch but crazy to play upon.
As an NU alum and fan I’m excited to watch the game. But I feel sorry for the fans who paid big money to sit in the stands by the endzone that will not see any action!
Baseball is unique game. Its great fields are not suited to other uses. I see that the teams will sit along one sideline, but will switch ends at the half. Perhaps all the fans could switch from one end to the other too to address the problem that No. 4 identifies. Getting subs in when the action is at the far end from the bench should be a challenge, as will viewing the plays for one team’s coaching staff.
Just when you thought you’d heard it all. At least there are no Episcopal Church law suits involved (as of yet).
