“If this happened in a mosque, the government would be doing something,” yelled one parishioner in an angry street protest after Sunday morning Mass at Saints Church, the site of the bombing, where a crucifix wrapped in a blood-stained sheet stood sentinel. “But this happens to us every year, and every day, and they do nothing.”
The bombing early on Saturday morning climaxed the bloodiest year in four decades of sectarian tensions in Egypt, beginning with a Muslim gunman’s killings of nine people outside another midnight Mass, at a church in the city of Nag Hammadi on Jan. 6, the Coptic Christmas.
And, of course, media coverage of the slaughter of Christians rates page 10, bottom of page coverage–if any coverage at all.
Well, yes. Of course because you see it really does not exist…. just a figment of the collective right wing Christian imagination. (yes, I am being sarcastic).

#3, The Christians there and in other countries where they are persecuted have been on my prayer list for awhile. I found a website that tracks all the persecution going on around the world. It is awful.

#4, if it’s true that KJS has not issued any statement on this it would be very tragic and scandalous. Even various Muslim heads of states and Palestinian leaders (including Hamas!) have issued statements condemning the attack.

Shame on KJS and the TEC leadership for this omission. This reveals the degree to which their compassion is utterly selective. I suppose if it has the word “orthodox” in it, TEC is not terribly interested, even if blood is running in the streets.
