It was an old-fashioned championship game that featured solid defense, goal-line stands, field goals and a safety.
The first quarter was scoreless and the fourth quarter was breathless.
What game was this?

I wish these things could start earlier or be played on a Saturday afternoon. I suppose the commercial realities of television forbid anything that sensible. I envy my friends on the West Coast who can watch the entire game.
It was a great game. That being said, my nephew and I have a bet as to how it takes till the NCAA vacates Auburn’s championship due to eligibility issues. So maybe Oregon might get to national champions too in the not too distant future.
Well, Oregon has just as many booster issues, so I wouldn’t count those chickens too soon.
I still think TCU’s defense would have made either of those team’s offenses look even more dreadful than they were.
Oh, please, guys!
War Eagle!
#3 Oregon has one booster issue, Phil Knight of Nike athletic apparel fame. His money is single-handedly raising Oregon’s profile. He is also largely responsible for this atrocious uniforms.
But the Christian witness that came after the game from Auburn would NEVER have happened had Oregon won. OSU prides itself on having a “happy atheists” Club!
Of course I mean University of Oregon NOT OSU (that might have been better!)
Personally, I found the Christian witness from both the coach (we’re the better team, we’re the better coaches, we’re the better school, just like God intended, because he obviously blessed us to win), and Cam just a bit too precious.
Disclosure: My Ducks lost.
On the other hand, Tiger Offensive Tackle Fairley being proud of his unsportsmanlike conduct and penalty says they may all pray, but they may not all mean it.
Oregon IS God’s country, and there are Christians on the team!
