Something strange here. This diocese has been declining before 2003 and it is declining a bit faster since. Plate & pledge has been stagnant for past decade (and falling when inflation is considered) and in 2006 only about 20 percent of members attended church on the average, which may suggest that membership is inflated. And yet the bishop is unhappy with Good Shepherd which has shown growth over the past decade and strong increase in plate & pledge since 2003. When I was a child and beginning to throw a tantrum, I was told to “Count to ten.”
My advice to the Bishop of South Dakota is “Count to ten Bishop!”
