Leaders from the Church of England have gathered in Sheffield to meet over 150 young people.
The Bishop of Sheffield, Right Reverend Dr Steven Croft attended the event at St Thomas’ Church in Hillsborough alongside Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams and the Archbishop of York, John Sentamu.
The event, called ‘Regeneration’ was a summit led by young people aged between 15 and 21-years-old, giving them an opportunity to talk about how young people feature in the churches agenda.
Yesterday, when I read about ‘Regenerations’, my gut feeling was distrust. I could not help thinking, ’these people are trying to save the CoE with one hand and poison it with the other.') I also wanted to shout, “Keep your young people away from Rowan ‘The Body’s Grace’ Williams! and the subtle, nuanced, compromised, diluted, sexual agenda-tainted, revisionist, liberal counterfeit of Christianity that is being promoted by the Canterbury/TEC/Westernized Province machine.”
I still feel the same way today. The Church of England cannot be saved with programs that are not based on the Truth, the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth. The Holy Spirit will not bless or tolerate a counterfeit, polluted, compromised Christianity.
Saving and restoring the CoE will require old fashioned conviction of sin, repentance and returning and reconciling to God. Only God can save anything.
#1 — Frankly, I don’t believe that any of the Christian institutions in existence bear any resemblance to what Christ envisioned for “His Church.” But I’d trust ++Rowan Williams and +John Sentamu around my child far more readily than I would any of the RC big-wigs, aside from the pope.
