    For all the reasons you cite and more, I am convinced that small groups of people meeting regularly with the express intent of being one before our Lord is absolutely essential.

    As my journey has taken me a number of places both before and after the “grand experiment” I have seen many places where small groups were formed and encouraged; but I have known very few where they worked well. One was very early, in a group of Southern Baptist “20 somethings” where I first received a taste of what glory it could be for a group to be intimate with God and each other in prayer and worship. The other good groups have had different aspects, but my lament is that they have seemed so rare when they should blanket the Church.

    I would love to hear from others ideas on what impedes this vision, and how it may be overcome.
