What is remarkable is the state of preservation of what must be an iron vessel, when more recent craft have corroded away – even to the state of her being capable of taking visitors aboard. I suppose she must have been made of some sort of wrought or cast iron or buried in something which prevented corrosion. Perhaps more of her remains than of the vessel she sank.
Wasn’t there another peculiar civil war craft found recently with a gun turret which overbalanced her?
WOW!
