When Saraswati Devi awoke from the anesthesia, her clothes were soaked in blood. She was lying on a grass mat on the floor in excruciating pain, and there were no medical staff to answer her cries. She was one of 53 women who underwent surgeries at a “sterilization camp” sponsored by the government of India in its national campaign to drastically cut population growth.
The campaign is underwritten by tens of millions of dollars in American and British foreign-aid funds.

This is a real “WAR ON WOMEN” in India (and in China too), a war against women who want to have babies, a war against women who are forced to be sterilized or to have abortions and have no one to speak for them either in their own country or in the United States.
Susan Russell, Katherine Ragsdale, Elizabeth Kaeton and other feminist activists are quite willing to defend a woman’s right to have an abortion but I have to wonder when they will realize that the best way defend women is to defend a woman’s right to have babies.
