Fantastic final match. Once Novak started plopping shots into the net in the 5th, I knew his legs were giving out and a couple games later..bam. Also pretty cool to see Sir Sean Connery there supporting his fellow Scot!
I’ve got a lot of Scots blood, so I’m celebrating! What a great summer for Andy Murray, a great boost for British tennis, and finally the “ghost” of Fred Perry laid to rest!! Finally another British male has won a slam!
First, Olympic gold defeating Roger Federer on Wimbledon centre court (so soon after losing a 5 set heartbreaker to Federer in the same spot!)
And now triumph over the US Open defending champion in a stunning 5 set match.
(Ok truth be told, I didn’t actually [b]SEE[/b] a single point… it was not televised here nor was I able to access it via internet. The internet broadcast was only available in certain regions, West Africa not included. So, I LISTENED to the last 2 sets of the match via BBC radio last night! If that’s not tennis dedication, I don’t know what is! LOL!)
