1. TENTEX says:

I hate to say it. McCain and Huckabee are unfit for the nomination. I am not alone when I say that if either of these men is the nominee, I will be unable to vote for my party’s nominee for the first time in my life. Their promises are opposite their records. Real conservatives know this, and will not be fooled. It was all I could do in order to hold my nose and vote for Bush, TWICE. Never again.

if you just focus on the parts of Mitt that he changed, he sure seems like a conservative

3. libraryjim says:

Bob,
unfortunately, that seems to be the scorecard for all the Republican candidates.

4. Craig Goodrich says:

It’s interesting that among Independents in this survey, Mitt loses even to Ron Paul [sigh…], whereas McCain comes in first. I basically agree with Tentex #1, but the Republican base all by itself can’t elect anyone nationally. (Neither can the Democratic base, of course.)

As a libertarian — once with a capital L, now mostly lowercase — I’m pretty much disgusted with all the candidates in either party who have any chance of winning. But it appears that this election may become a prime, paradigmatic, archetypal example of why I refer to the parties as the Evil Party and the Stupid Party. Only the Republicans, of all the major political parties in the developed world, could possibly nominate someone who would actually lose to Hillary Clinton.

Whom ever a person votes for let them choose wisely. Your candidate might win and you are stuck with him or her. If a person doesn’t vote for anyone then they they should shut up because they stayed out of the fight completely and have no say at all!!
