When I was in 2d grade we were taken by school busses downtown to the Houston Symphony for a classical music concert. The concluding number was Pomp and Circumstance, and we had to memorize the words and stand and sing it. I was too stupid to appreciate it at the time but the conductor was Leopold Stakowski!
