As someone who has lived through 2 hurricanes and fled from+prepared for many others, my heart and prayers go out to Texas. The single best word to describe going through a a major hurricane is DISRUPTIVE, and until you have been thru a Cat 3 or greater you dont know what its like–KSH.
You must be remembering it, indeed. This storm was of Hugo-like strength at landfall. Unlike Hugo, it’s not going to leave the area and go devastate people farther inland. It’s hanging around southeast Texas for days, dumping several feet of rain on already saturated areas and damaged buildings. We probably won’t have solid damage estimates until later next week.
