In the midst of life we are in death. <\/span><\/p>\n

We grow and wither as quickly as flowers; <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

we disappear like shadows.<\/span><\/p>\n

To whom can we go for help, but to you, Lord God, <\/span><\/p>\n

though you are rightly displeased because of our sins? <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

And yet, Lord God Almighty, <\/span><\/p>\n

most holy and most merciful Saviour, <\/span><\/p>\n

deliver us from the bitterness of eternal death. <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

You know the secrets of our hearts; <\/span><\/p>\n

mercifully hear us, most worthy judge eternal; <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

keep us, at our last hour, <\/span><\/p>\n

in the consolation of your love. <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

[You, O Lord, are gracious and compassionate,<\/span><\/p>\n

slow to anger and rich in love.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

As kind as a father is to his children,<\/span><\/p>\n

so kind is the Lord to those who honour him.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

For you know what we are made of;<\/span><\/p>\n

you remember that we are dust.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

As for us, our life is like grass.<\/span><\/p>\n

We grow and flourish like a wildflower;<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

then the wind blows on it, and it is gone<\/span><\/p>\n

no-one sees it again.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

But for those who honour the Lord, his love lasts forever,<\/span><\/p>\n

and his goodness endures for all generations.]<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n
