{"id":102291,"date":"2021-05-17T16:36:07","date_gmt":"2021-05-17T20:36:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=102291"},"modified":"2021-05-17T18:48:08","modified_gmt":"2021-05-17T22:48:08","slug":"guardian-minister-condemns-deeply-disturbing-rise-in-antisemitism-in-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=102291","title":{"rendered":"(Guardian) Minister condemns \u2018deeply disturbing\u2019 rise in antisemitism in UK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"css-1yqigsj\">Robert Jenrick has condemned a \u201cdeeply disturbing upsurge in antisemitism\u201d in recent years and said the government will name and shame local authorities that have failed to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of the problem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1yqigsj\">The communities secretary criticised incidents over the weekend in which a rabbi was beaten up outside his synagogue in Chigwell, Essex, and occupants of a convoy of cars in north London allegedly shouted antisemitic abuse.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1yqigsj\">Jenrick said the government would take \u201crobust action\u201d to root out antisemitism, pointing out that it had been an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/society\/2016\/dec\/12\/antisemitism-definition-government-combat-hate-crime-jews-israel\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">early adopter<\/a> of the IHRA definition of antisemitism.
