The Vatican will not create an enclave within the Roman Catholic Church for Anglicans opposed to women clergy and the \u201d\u02dcgay agenda\u2019, Rome\u2019s La Civilt\u00c3\u00a0 Cattolica predicts.<\/p>\n
In an October article entitled Catholic Anglican Relations after the Lambeth Conference (La Relazione tra Cattolici e Anglicani dopo la Conferenza di Lambeth) the semi-official Jesuit bi-weekly stated the \u201ccorporate unity\u201d\u009d under discussion between the Vatican and traditionalist Anglicans \u201cwill not be a form of uniatism as this is unsuitable for uniting two realities which are too similar from a cultural point of view as indeed are Roman Catholics and Anglo-Catholics.\u201d\u009d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Holy See, while sympathetic to the demands of these Anglo-Catholics\u201d\u009d for corporate reunion, \u201cis moving with discretion and prudence.\u201d\u009d Opposition to the ordination of women to the ordained ministry and to gay bishops and blessings \u201cis not enough,\u201d\u009d the newspaper said. Anglo-Catholics should be motive not by a rejection of Anglicanism but by the \u201cdesire to join fully the Catholic Church,\u201d\u009d Fr. Paul Gamberini SJ wrote.<\/p>\n
