{"id":114896,"date":"2022-09-06T12:23:10","date_gmt":"2022-09-06T16:23:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=114896"},"modified":"2022-09-06T18:13:42","modified_gmt":"2022-09-06T22:13:42","slug":"brand-new-tec-diocese-petitions-south-carolina-supreme-court-for-a-rehearing-on-two-parishes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=114896","title":{"rendered":"Brand New TEC Diocese Petitions South Carolina Supreme Court for a Rehearing on two parishes in the Historic Anglican Diocese of SC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>(Via email&#8211;KSH)<\/i><\/p>\n<p> Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,<\/p>\n<p>To file under \u201cwe-should\u2019ve-seen-that-coming\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;(On September 1, 2022)..the Episcopal Church and The Episcopal Church in South Carolina filed a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/adosc.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Petition-for-Rehearing-final-version.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Petition for Reconsideration and Rehearing<\/a>\u00a0with the South Carolina Supreme Court asking the Court to reverse their ruling regarding the property rights of two parishes whose rights they had affirmed in their August 17 ruling.<\/p>\n<p>Those parishes are: Old St Andrew\u2019s, Charleston, and the Church of the Holy Cross, Stateburg.<\/p>\n<p>Please join me in praying the Court will deny this final effort and, once and for all, put this case to rest.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, The Church of the Good Shepherd, Charleston, whose property rights the Court denied in their August 17 ruling, filed a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/adosc.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/good_shepherd_22_9_1_FINAL-petition-with-exhibits.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Petition for Rehearing<\/a>\u00a0asking the Court to reconsider that ruling.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll pray that the Court will reverse that earlier ruling and affirm the property rights of Good Shepherd.<\/p>\n<p>With me, you are likely tired of the back-and-forth and wondering if this will ever end. It will. Someday, in the not too distant future, I trust these matters will be behind us, and we will move forward\u2014whatever the outcome\u2014into ministry without this distraction.
