Peter Johnston, the\u00a0new Ministry President<\/a>\u00a0for Anglican Compass, asked me to write an\u00a0article about my long-standing interest and support of this site. I am happy to do it. I\u2019m a\u00a0fan.<\/p>\n

During the course of my writing assignment, I had to text Peter a quick question. I\u00a0know what I told Siri: Anglican Compass. But what she heard\u2014and wrote\u2014was a\u00a0truthful comment on the state of the church, the culture, and our days ahead. Siri said:\u00a0Anguish and Compass.<\/p>\n

Many in the church today might relate to the phrase. These are days of great\u00a0anguish, everywhere it seems. The culture is in a free fall. The church\u2019s voice has been\u00a0displaced by loud arguments of politics and media. It has made its own mistakes. Many\u00a0(most?) congregations are still rebuilding from the pandemic. God is sovereign, I know,\u00a0but I wonder if even He agrees sometimes that there is a lot to be \u201canguished\u201d about.<\/p>\n

We are all looking for guidance\u2014for a reliable compass showing us True North.<\/p>\n
