Sing for joy, O heavens, and exult, O earth;
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0break forth, O mountains, into singing!
\nFor the Lord has comforted his people,
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and will have compassion on his afflicted.<\/p>\n
But Zion said, \u201cThe Lord has forsaken me,
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0my Lord has forgotten me.\u201d
\n\u201cCan a woman forget her sucking child,
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb?
\nEven these may forget,
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0yet I will not forget you.
\nBehold, I have graven you on the palms of my hands;
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0your walls are continually before me.
\nYour builders outstrip your destroyers,
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and those who laid you waste go forth from you.
\nLift up your eyes round about and see;
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0they all gather, they come to you.
\nAs I live, says the Lord,
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0you shall put them all on as an ornament,
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0you shall bind them on as a bride does.<\/p>\n
\u201cSurely your waste and your desolate places
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and your devastated land\u2014
\nsurely now you will be too narrow for your inhabitants,
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and those who swallowed you up will be far away.
\nThe children born in the time of your bereavement
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0will yet say in your ears:
\n\u2018The place is too narrow for me;
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0make room for me to dwell in.\u2019
\nThen you will say in your heart:
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u2018Who has borne me these?
\nI was bereaved and barren,
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0exiled and put away,
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0but who has brought up these?
\nBehold, I was left alone;
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0whence then have these come?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
