A parish in Derbyshire has transformed its churchyard into a wildlife haven as part of a green drive affecting all aspects of parish life \u2013 even the used candles.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The community at Glossop Parish Church of All Saints worked hard to create a \u201csanctuary\u201d in their churchyard by litter-picking, toilet-twinning, planting perennials and more.<\/p>\n

In working to clear the area around gravestones,\u00a0the grave of renowned local inventor Isaac Jackson and his wife Harriet<\/a>\u00a0was restored by their descendants in collaboration with a local Community Payback team.<\/p>\n

Joining with churches and community groups across Glossopdale, they took part in the \u2018Great British Spring Clean\u2019 in April and October and collected a total of over 40 bags of litter from a local \u2018grot spot\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
