{"id":126765,"date":"2024-02-09T08:00:15","date_gmt":"2024-02-09T13:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=126765"},"modified":"2024-02-09T17:49:04","modified_gmt":"2024-02-09T22:49:04","slug":"ct-super-bowl-gambling-grows-but-pastors-are-on-the-sidelines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=126765","title":{"rendered":"(CT) Super Bowl Gambling Grows, But Pastors Are on the Sidelines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With the Super Bowl this weekend, don\u2019t expect many pastors to place a bet on Kansas City or San Francisco to win the game, but a few may have more than a rooting interest riding on the game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text\">Despite its legalization across many states, US Protestant pastors remain opposed to sports gambling, but they\u2019re not doing much about it, according to\u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/research.lifeway.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Pastors-Sept-2023-Sports-Betting-Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a Lifeway Research study<\/a>.
