{"id":12703,"date":"2009-05-09T02:20:30","date_gmt":"2009-05-09T02:20:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/127.0.0.1\/site\/2017\/2\/1985\/an_ens_article_on_acc_discussions_earlier_today\/"},"modified":"2009-05-09T02:20:30","modified_gmt":"2009-05-09T02:20:30","slug":"an_ens_article_on_acc_discussions_earlier_today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=12703","title":{"rendered":"An ENS article on ACC Discussions Earlier Today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Diocese of Peru Bishop Bill Godfrey, representing the Anglican Province of the Southern Cone, unsuccessfully called for a &#8220;listening process for those involved in litigation,&#8221; so that they &#8220;feel that justice is being done&#8221; and that &#8220;the ACC hears them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Episcopal Church episcopal representative Diocese of New York Bishop Catherine Roskam suggested that, a listening process should include the voice of &#8220;joyful Episcopalians &#8212; both liberal and conservative &#8212; in the re-constituted dioceses of the Episcopal Church.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s much good there,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;They&#8217;re faithful Episcopalians and their voices need to be heard as well.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the debate, Episcopal Church lay representative Josephine Hicks spoke against having the resolution&#8217;s second resolve to &#8220;affirm&#8221; the continuation group&#8217;s recommendations. She argued that while the Episcopal Church had &#8220;complied with all the moratoria &#8212; at a significant cost,&#8221; others have not honored the ban on cross-boundary interventions.
