As I had always known
\nhe would come, unannounced,
\nremarkable merely for the absence
\nof clamour. So truth must appear
\nto the thinker; so, at a stage
\nof the experiment, the answer
\nmust quietly emerge. I looked
\nat him, not with the eye
\nonly, but with the whole
\nof my being, overflowing with
\nhim as a chalice would
\nwith the sea. Yet was he
\nno more there than before,
\nhis area occupied
\nby the unhaloed presences.
\nYou could put your hand
\nin him without consciousness
\nof his wounds. The gamblers
\nat the foot of the unnoticed
\ncross went on with
\ntheir dicing; yet the invisible
\ngarment for which they played
\nwas no longer at stake, but worn
\nby him in this risen existence.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
