{"id":129495,"date":"2024-05-28T18:34:53","date_gmt":"2024-05-28T22:34:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=129495"},"modified":"2024-05-28T18:35:44","modified_gmt":"2024-05-28T22:35:44","slug":"church-times-independent-agency-appointed-to-investigate-racist-incidents-in-the-church-of-england","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=129495","title":{"rendered":"(Church Times) Independent agency appointed to investigate racist incidents in the Church of England"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>An independent agency, Race Equality First, has been commissioned to investigate&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/racismracial-justice\">racist<\/a>&nbsp;incidents in the Church of England.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The C of E\u2019s director of racial justice, the Revd Guy Hewitt, said on Thursday: \u201cSadly, anecdotal evidence suggested that such occurrences are more common than appreciated.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/ethnic-minoritiesbameukmegmh\">GMH\/UKME communities<\/a>&nbsp;[Global Majority Heritage\/UK Minoritised Ethnic], being stereotyped, overlooked, or excluded, or facing harassment, hostile comments or microaggression are an all-too-common experience.
