The bishops of the AMiA would not be invited to Lambeth because of the decision taken by Archbishop George Carey in 2000. Archbishop Carey \u201cwrote to them saying he could not recognize their ministry\u201d\u009d and that their \u201cconsecrations were irregular,\u201d\u009d Canon Kearon explained. This decision was \u201cconfirmed at Oporto\u201d\u009d by the primates in 2000, and the \u201cdecision was already fixed\u201d\u009d by Archbishop Williams\u2019 predecessor.<\/p>\n
The case of CANA Bishop Martyn Minns exhibits \u201cno difference\u201d\u009d from the AMiA and he falls into the same category, Canon Kearon said.
\nOn Bishop Kunonga, Archbishop Williams is \u201cseeking further advice,\u201d\u009d Canon Kearon said, but noted his case and that of one or two others had \u201cnothing to do with the Windsor process.\u201d\u009d<\/p>\n
