{"id":130241,"date":"2024-06-26T17:17:00","date_gmt":"2024-06-26T21:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=130241"},"modified":"2024-06-26T18:25:54","modified_gmt":"2024-06-26T22:25:54","slug":"church-times-theological-college-for-older-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=130241","title":{"rendered":"(Church Times) Theological college for\u00a0older people"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>When the next academic year begins in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/theological-college\">theological colleges<\/a>&nbsp;this autumn, some of the new students will be bringing a lifetime of experience inside and outside the Church to their theological studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As such, mature students \u2014 particularly the over-65s \u2014 are a much valued cohort, theological institutions say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, currently has eight students in that category; their oldest is 73. Most opt for part-time study, and are generally interested in more introductory qualifications, a spokesperson said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Sarum College, in Salisbury, student ages range from their twenties to their seventies. The college has a commitment to lifelong learning and to a broad offer of theological learning, the director of marketing and communications, Ms Christine Nielsen-Craig, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/articles\/2024\/21-june\/features\/features\/theological-college-for-older-people\">Read it all<\/a>.<\/p><blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe college was very accommodating, and the pathways were flexible.
