Ukraine\u2019s Kursk offensive has dented Vladimir Putin\u2019s war narrative and triggered \u201cquestions\u201d among the Russian elite about the point of the war, two of the world\u2019s leading spy chiefs have said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
CIA director Bill Burns said Kursk was \u201ca significant tactical achievement\u201d that had boosted Ukrainian morale and exposed Russia\u2019s weaknesses. It has \u201craised questions\u2009.\u2009.\u2009.\u2009across the Russian elite about where is this all headed\u201d, he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was speaking at the Financial Times\u2019 Weekend festival in London on Saturday alongside MI6 chief Richard Moore. Moore said the Kursk offensive was \u201ca typically audacious and bold move by the Ukrainians\u2009.\u2009.\u2009.\u2009to try and change the game\u201d \u2014 although he cautioned it was \u201ctoo early\u201d to say how long Kyiv\u2019s forces would be able to control the Russian territory they had seized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
