{"id":132012,"date":"2024-10-17T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-17T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=132012"},"modified":"2024-10-17T18:39:10","modified_gmt":"2024-10-17T22:39:10","slug":"ru-pastors-paint-picture-of-a-poor-economic-year-for-churches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=132012","title":{"rendered":"(RU) Pastors Paint Picture Of a Poor Economic Year For Churches"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Heading into an election where the <a href=\"https:\/\/research.lifeway.com\/2024\/09\/26\/evangelicals-twice-as-likely-to-back-trump-over-harris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">economy is top of mind for many voters<\/a>, pastors say finances have been difficult at their church this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/research.lifeway.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Lifeway-Pastors-Sept-2024-Economy-Report-1.pdf\">Lifeway Research study<\/a> found 66% of U.S. Protestant pastors say the economy is very or somewhat negatively impacting their church. The two in three pastors who report a negative economic impact is the highest since 2011, and the 14% who say the impact has been very negative is the highest ever recorded in the 15-year history of the study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Around one in 14 (7%) say their church is seeing a positive impact. A quarter (24%) aren\u2019t seeing any impact either way, and 3% aren\u2019t sure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, 50% said they experienced a negative impact, 40% no impact and 8% a positive impact.
