This was something that he felt \u201cvery strongly about\u201d, he said; and a \u201clight-touch\u201d reporting framework was being proposed for dioceses, to \u201cimprove transparency and accountability\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the ensuing debate, speakers expressed concern about the statistic and the sufficiency of the proposed approach. The Revd Jonathan Macy (Southwark), who chairs the National Estates Churches Network, suggested that the figure was \u201cabsolutely shocking. . .
