\u201cWe want to show people what can be done in a small place,\u201d said Priest-in-Charge, the Rev Kay Jones. \u201cSo, we started with the church environment being different.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Inside the building, a legacy provided for LED lighting and thermal boards, helping the church lower its carbon emissions, as well as providing a warm space for the community. \u201cIt\u2019s not freezing anymore,\u201d said Kay. \u201cWe can have warm-space activities. People like being here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And people are connecting with it. An open day to launch the potting shed brought 17 adults and 27 children together. \u201cIt was hard to get rid of them at the end,\u201d Kay joked. \u201cIt is changing things for small numbers of people,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat I\u2019m seeing is people wanting to be part of what we do,\u201d she said. \u201cPeople are trying different foods grown in the garden, learning how \u2013 and what \u2013 to recycle in the church\u2019s recycling bins, and crucially, learning where food comes from, helping to reduce their food bills.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
