A string of such episodes has called attention to Taiwan\u2019s vulnerability as it works to ensure that it has&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/tech\/taiwans-race-for-secure-internet-detours-around-musks-starlink-7c273912?mod=article_inline\">secure internet services<\/a>&nbsp;to keep the island online in the event of an invasion or blockade by China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similar incidents elsewhere, including the cutting of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/world\/europe\/suspected-sabotage-of-deep-sea-cable-triggers-first-nato-led-response-337119ba?mod=article_inline\">data cables beneath the Baltic Sea<\/a>, have brought global attention to security concerns surrounding the critical infrastructure.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taiwan\u2019s coast guard said it spotted the Togo-flagged cargo vessel in the area on Saturday evening.
