G25 was&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gafcon.org\/communique-updates\/the-plano-statement\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>a mini-conference<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;organised by Gafcon, a movement which begin in 2008, when the Global Anglican Conference (Gafcon) was organised in Jersusalem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-o1vll46236\">In 2008, over 1,000 archbishops, bishops, clergy and lay people gathered to discuss the future for faithful Anglicans in a Communion in crisis. A crisis caused by those Gafcon describe as having&nbsp;<em>\u201cled the flock of Christ astray, diluted the authority of Scripture and distorted the gospel, endangering many souls.\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-17ntu73060\">Archbishop Akinola, one of its founding members, described the original conference as representing<em>&nbsp;\u201ca new dawn, a new beginning\u201d,&nbsp;<\/em>a means of,&nbsp;<em>\u201cgathering authentic Anglicans\u201d,<\/em>&nbsp;to,&nbsp;<em>\u201creform\u201d<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>\u201crenew\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;and<em>&nbsp;\u201creorder\u201d&nbsp;<\/em>the Anglican Communion. The Communique from the G25 mini-conference acknowledges that some have, however, considered Gafcon to be more controversial,<em>&nbsp;\u201ca sectarian and schismatic movement that has sought to undermine the unity of the Anglican Communion\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-r4taf384\">The focus of G25 was to equip the next generation, so Gafcon took time to revisit the history.
