The World Is Safer for It."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In a moment of political decisiveness and courage, Trump deployed those bombs, despite&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefp.com\/p\/trump-is-the-decider-israel-iran-foreign-policy\">strenuous objections<\/a>&nbsp;from the \u201crestrainers\u201d in his administration and parts of the MAGA coalition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no military that could\u2019ve done what we did,\u201d Trump said during&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/libsoftiktok\/status\/1936613406041362540\">a brief speech<\/a>&nbsp;to the nation Saturday night. He is correct. As Niall Ferguson and former Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefp.com\/p\/israel-us-must-finish-job\">recently noted in these pages<\/a>, Fordow was essentially impervious to assault. There was one bomb that could cut through its defenses: America\u2019s GBU 57A\/B Massive Ordinance Penetrator (MOP). And there was only one plane built to deliver that bomb: the American B-2 Spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWith a single exertion of its unmatched military strength,\u201d Ferguson and Gallant wrote, \u201cthe United States can shorten the war, prevent wider escalation, and end the principal threat to Middle Eastern stability.
