Saying that a change in Anglican teaching, if necessary, would require broader agreement, he proposed a \u201ctwo-track\u201d\u009d church structure which recognizes \u201ctwo ways of being Anglican.\u201d\u009d<\/p>\n<p>On July 14, the Episcopal Church\u2019s General Convention voted to approve homosexual bishops. It was seen as a rejection of the Archbishop of Canterbury\u2019s and the Anglican Communion\u2019s call for a moratorium on the practice.<\/p>\n<p>Writing in a July 27 document titled \u201cCommunion, Covenant and our Anglican Future,\u201d\u009d Archbishop Williams said the wording of the resolution showed that it did not want to \u201ccut its moorings from other parts of the Anglican family.\u201d\u009d The two most controversial resolutions, he said, do not have the \u201cautomatic effect\u201d\u009d of overturning the moratoria on homosexual clergy.<\/p>\n<p>However, he said the resolutions do not suggest the General Convention will \u201crepair the broken bridges into the life of other Anglican provinces\u201d\u009d and have led to the expression of \u201cvery serious anxieties.\u201d\u009d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.catholicnewsagency.com\/new.php?n=16693\">Read it all<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, head cleric in the Church of England, has responded to the Episcopal Church\u2019s decision to allow the ordination of homosexual bishops.
