{"id":142030,"date":"2025-12-19T12:27:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-19T17:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=142030"},"modified":"2025-12-20T07:33:28","modified_gmt":"2025-12-20T12:33:28","slug":"church-times-restore-bbcs-faith-obligations-says-sandford-st-martin-trust","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=142030","title":{"rendered":"(Church Times) Restore BBC\u2019s faith obligations, says Sandford St Martin Trust"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Sandford St Martin Trust has welcomed the review by the Culture Secretary, Lisa Nandy, of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/bbc\">BBC\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0Royal Charter, but recommended reinstatement of the Corporation\u2019s obligations to represent the UK\u2019s diverse belief communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement on Tuesday, the Trust called for \u201cformal opportunities for representatives of faith communities to participate meaningfully in the public consultation as part of the Charter Review\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also urged the BBC to commit itself to commissioning and making available \u201cprogramming and content that reflect the full diversity\u201d of the UK.
