{"id":142131,"date":"2025-12-24T16:28:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-24T21:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=142131"},"modified":"2025-12-24T17:01:28","modified_gmt":"2025-12-24T22:01:28","slug":"church-of-england-offers-online-christmas-service-for-shift-workers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=142131","title":{"rendered":"Church of England offers online Christmas service for shift workers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An online <a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/christmas\">Christmas<\/a>\u00a0service designed for people working shifts will be released on the Church of England website at 6 a.m. on Christmas Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lasting 15 minutes, so that it can be watched in the course of a break from work, the service was created in response to a request by hospital&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/chaplaincy\">chaplains<\/a>, and includes a Gospel reading, sermon, prayers, and music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/bishop-of-london\">Bishop of London<\/a>, the Rt Revd Sarah Mullally, features in the service. A former nurse, and Chief Nursing Officer for the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/nhs\">NHS<\/a>, she says that she has \u201cfond memories\u201d of working on Christmas Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAlthough not always easy, it is a privilege to be with people who need us most at this time.
