{"id":143883,"date":"2026-03-12T17:33:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T21:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=143883"},"modified":"2026-03-12T19:03:58","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T23:03:58","slug":"former-free-church-minister-james-treasure-to-become-bishop-of-st-germans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=143883","title":{"rendered":"(Church Times) Former Free Church minister James Treasure to become Bishop of St Germans"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The next Suffragan\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/bishop-of-st-germans\">Bishop of St Germans<\/a>, in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/diocese-of-truro\">diocese of Truro<\/a>, is to be the Revd James Treasure, Downing Street announced on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He succeeds the Rt Revd Hugh Nelson, who was translated to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/bishop-of-worcester\">Worcester<\/a>&nbsp;last year (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/articles\/2025\/1-august\/news\/uk\/bishop-hugh-nelson-to-be-translated-from-st-germans-to-worcester\">News, 29 July 2025<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Treasure became the Vicar of St Thomas and St Luke (known locally as \u201cTop Church\u201d), Dudley, in 2018, and has been Team Rector since 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He trained at Ripon College, Cuddesdon, and was ordained priest in 2017. He served his title at St John the Baptist and Holy Innocents, Kidderminster, in Worcester diocese.
