{"id":146966,"date":"2026-07-31T14:25:00","date_gmt":"2026-07-31T18:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=146966"},"modified":"2026-07-31T18:32:20","modified_gmt":"2026-07-31T22:32:20","slug":"church-times-further-rise-in-cathedral-attendance-reported-for-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=146966","title":{"rendered":"(Church Times) Further rise in cathedral attendance reported for 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Cathedral <a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/church-attendance\">attendance<\/a>\u00a0figures rose for the fifth year in succession in 2025 and rebounded consistently after the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/coronavirus\">Covid<\/a>\u00a0pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attendance overall remained lower than in 2019, but&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/easterholy-week\">Easter<\/a>&nbsp;attendance drew level with pre-pandemic figures for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A total of 32,600 people attended weekly services at Church of England cathedrals in 2025, as opposed to 36,800 in 2019. Sunday attendance was up among adults in 2025 \u2014 eight per cent higher than in 2024, when weekly attendance had risen by one tenth (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/articles\/2025\/5-september\/news\/uk\/weekly-attendance-at-cathedral-services-rose-by-one-tenth-in-2024\">News, 5 September, 2025<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/christmas\">Christmas<\/a>&nbsp;attendance in 2025 was up by six per cent, and there was a five-per-cent rise in Easter attendance.
