{"id":147592,"date":"2026-09-28T17:01:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-28T21:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=147592"},"modified":"2026-09-28T18:17:13","modified_gmt":"2026-09-28T22:17:13","slug":"church-times-some-city-of-london-churches-sever-ties-with-bishops","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=147592","title":{"rendered":"(Church Times) Some City of London churches sever ties with bishops"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Rector of St Helen\u2019s, Bishopsgate, in London, the Revd William Taylor, has characterised the bishops of the Church of England as \u201cfalse teachers\u201d and \u201cclear heretics\u201d, in a sermon published on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/social-media\">YouTube<\/a>\u00a0last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking at St Helen\u2019s on 10 September, Mr Taylor said that it was \u201cquite simply impossible to fathom how a person could get consecrated by a group of bishops who are engaged in any way with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchtimes.co.uk\/topics\/living-in-love-and-faith\">LLF<\/a> process to move it forward\u201d or remain \u201cin any sense in spiritual fellowship\u201d with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He took as his text Titus 3, focusing on St Paul\u2019s injunction to \u201cWarn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time.
