{"id":16108,"date":"2009-11-14T21:00:02","date_gmt":"2009-11-14T21:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/127.0.0.1\/site\/2017\/2\/1985\/in_southern_california_oceanside_congregation_loses_legal_battle_with_episc\/"},"modified":"2009-11-14T21:00:02","modified_gmt":"2009-11-14T21:00:02","slug":"in_southern_california_oceanside_congregation_loses_legal_battle_with_episc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=16108","title":{"rendered":"In Southern California Oceanside congregation loses legal battle with Episcopal Church"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sunday&#8217;s sermon at St. Anne&#8217;s Anglican Church in Oceanside will be about &#8220;standing on the authority of God&#8217;s word&#8221; in light of a recent court ruling that could force the congregation to find a new home.<\/p>\n<p>Father Joe Rees, rector of the church at 701 West St. near the former Ditmar Elementary School, said he and his parishioners are still praying about a ruling handed down by San Diego Superior Court Judge Steven Denton on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The tentative ruling found that the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego is the true owner of the Oceanside church building and grounds, as well as property inhabited by another Anglican congregation in Ocean Beach.
