\u201cViva Laughlin\u201d\u009d on CBS may well be the worst new show of the season, but is it the worst show in the history of television?<\/p>\n
It certainly comes close in a category that includes \u201cBeverly Hills Buntz\u201d\u009d in 1987 (Dennis Franz in a short-lived spinoff of \u201cHill Street Blues\u201d\u009d), the self-explanatory \u201cManimal\u201d\u009d in 1983 or last year\u2019s one-episode wonder, \u201cEmily\u2019s Reasons Why Not.\u201d\u009d \u201cViva Laughlin\u201d\u009d is not even in the same league as \u201cCop Rock,\u201d\u009d a 1990 experimental series created by Steven Bochco that leavened a gritty police drama with Broadway musical moments: cops and criminals breaking into song and dance. \u201cViva Laughlin\u201d\u009d also features musical outbursts and is far worse.<\/p>\n
