{"id":30,"date":"2007-05-23T18:17:00","date_gmt":"2007-05-23T18:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/127.0.0.1\/site\/2017\/2\/1985\/ny_times_gay_and_dissident_bishops_excluded_from_08_meeting\/"},"modified":"2007-05-23T18:17:00","modified_gmt":"2007-05-23T18:17:00","slug":"ny_times_gay_and_dissident_bishops_excluded_from_08_meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=30","title":{"rendered":"NY Times: Gay and Dissident Bishops Excluded From \u201908 Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Canon Kearon said that the leaders of the communion recognized that Bishop Robinson was \u201cduly elected and consecrated according to the proper procedures of the Episcopal Church.\u201d\u009d<\/p>\n<p>But to invite him, the canon said, \u201cwould be to ignore the very substantial and widespread objections in many parts of the communion to his consecration and his ministry.\u201d\u009d<\/p>\n<p>He said there was \u201cno parallel\u201d\u009d between Bishop Robinson and Bishop Minns, a rector who was installed as a bishop in Virginia this month by Archbishop Akinola, a crossing of boundaries that the archbishop of Canterbury criticized.<\/p>\n<p>Bishop Minns heads a consortium of churches that have left the Episcopal Church, the Convocation of Anglicans in North America.
