The irony of this, is that the Presiding Bishop of the Southern Cone, Greg Venables, has been at pains to point out that he consulted with the Archbishop of Canterbury in September concerning the current events. At least he continues, it seems, to treat the Archbishop of Canterbury as one \u201d\u02dcwho gathers the Communion\u2019.<\/p>\n
The consequential question resulting from Chris Sugden\u2019s view concerning the Archbishop of Canterbury is: \u201d\u02dcThen who does gather the Communion?\u2019 His view leaves a vacuum. It also means that the Primates\u2019 Meeting can\u2019t be gathered, since Canterbury presides at those meetings. It also means the Lambeth Conference can\u2019t meet. Of the Four Instruments of Communion, that leaves only the Anglican Consultative Council and that is not seen as respresentative by him.<\/p>\n
