And at 87, he may be among the oldest to receive post-traumatic stress disorder benefits for it.<\/p>\n<p>After decades of nightmares and sessions with doctors, Chaney last year was approved based on his World War II experiences that, according to some of the paperwork involved, included much more than spanning Europe\u2019s rivers and streams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy unit was involved in the release of prisoners of war at the Buchenwald concentration camp,\u201d\u009d he said in one account his family provided to the Department of Veterans Affairs. \u201cThe prisoners looked like walking skeletons and some died while I was there.
