{"id":45642,"date":"2014-08-25T04:01:21","date_gmt":"2014-08-25T04:01:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/127.0.0.1\/site\/2017\/2\/1985\/archbishop_sentamus_vigil_of_hope_and_trust_for_peace\/"},"modified":"2014-08-25T04:01:21","modified_gmt":"2014-08-25T04:01:21","slug":"archbishop_sentamus_vigil_of_hope_and_trust_for_peace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=45642","title":{"rendered":"Archbishop Sentamu\u2019s Vigil of Hope and Trust for Peace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Archbishop will be praying on the hour, every hour, from 6am to 6pm, from Sunday 24th August to Sunday 31st August, in the St John\u2019s Chapel at York Minster.<\/p>\n<p>In advance of his vigil of \u201d\u02dcHope and Trust for the Peace of the World\u2019 Dr Sentamu issued the following statement:<\/p>\n<p> \u201cDearly beloved Disciples of Jesus Christ, wherever you are in the world, I beseech you, in the Name of our Lord, to join me in heart and mind for seven days of prayer and fasting for peace and justice in God&#8217;s World.<\/p>\n<p>Please join me in praying especially for those places in our global village devastated by <b>militarism, idolatry<\/b> (the worship of God wrongly conceived), <b>dictatorships<\/b> and <b>abject poverty<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>One way of making our solidarity and commitment together to be instruments and makers of peace is to place white linen in our windows.  All people of good will may do this!
