{"id":46451,"date":"2014-10-20T00:00:58","date_gmt":"2014-10-20T00:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/127.0.0.1\/site\/2017\/2\/1985\/ekklesia_general_theological_seminary_board_refuses_to_rescind_faculty_sack\/"},"modified":"2014-10-20T00:00:58","modified_gmt":"2014-10-20T00:00:58","slug":"ekklesia_general_theological_seminary_board_refuses_to_rescind_faculty_sack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=46451","title":{"rendered":"(Ekklesia) General Theological Seminary board refuses to rescind faculty sackings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The future of General Theological Seminary (GTS), the flagship Episcopal Church seminary in New York, is still in doubt tonight after its Board of Trustees ignored pleas from across the world to reinstate sacked faculty members.<\/p>\n<p>Supporters of the eight professors \u201d\u201c who were told they had resigned after a work stoppage and letter to press long-term complaints about alleged abusive behaviour by the seminary&#8217;s new Dean and President \u201d\u201c have expressed distress, dismay and anger at the actions of the GTS Board, its managing body.<\/p>\n<p>They complain that the Board and its chair, Bishop Mark Sisk, have not followed due process or key elements of the seminary&#8217;s own guidelines.
