Two or three veterans from World War II, 10 or so who served in the Korean War, even more from Vietnam and then a large number of servicemen and women who served in Desert Storm, Iraq and Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p>Several hundred people \u201d\u201c including numerous veterans and active-duty military \u201d\u201c gathered inside a hangar on the USS Yorktown Monday at Patriots Point Naval &#038; Maritime Museum to honor those who have fought or died while serving in the United States\u2019 armed forces.<\/p>\n<p>The Memorial Day event recognized the sacrifices soldiers and their families have made with a series of videos, prayers, a wreath-casting ceremony and a performance by the Eyrie Overtones handbell choir from Northside Christian School in North Charleston.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.postandcourier.com\/article\/20150525\/PC16\/150529516\/veterans-families-pack-patriots-point-to-mark-memorial-day\">Read it all<\/a>.<br \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One by one, they stood.
