In the darkness of Calvary on Good Friday and in the celebration of Our Lord\u2019s resurrection on Easter Day, we see both sides of Divine mercy. God is with us in the darkness of all human suffering and bewilderment, but God also holds out the hope of a new and wonderful dimension to human existence, both in this life and beyond this life. Herein is the miracle of that great mercy held out for us.<\/p>\n<p>This year is a particular \u201d\u02dcyear of mercy\u2019 in the Roman Catholic tradition, but for all Christian disciples \u201d\u201c of whatever tradition \u201d\u201c the heartbeat of the Beatitudes echoes through all true spiritual endeavour with its central message, \u201d\u02dcBlessed are the merciful for they shall receive mercy.\u2019 (Matthew 5.7)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ireland.anglican.org\/news\/6256\">Read it all<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As we again ponder, and \u201d\u02dcpray with\u2019, the events of the first Holy Week and Easter, we once more become aware of the enormity of God\u2019s mercy to humankind.
