{"id":5575,"date":"2008-04-10T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2008-04-10T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/127.0.0.1\/site\/2017\/2\/1985\/bishop_kelshaw_denies_resigning_from_ministry\/"},"modified":"2008-04-10T14:00:00","modified_gmt":"2008-04-10T14:00:00","slug":"bishop_kelshaw_denies_resigning_from_ministry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=5575","title":{"rendered":"Bishop Kelshaw Denies Resigning from Ministry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last month Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori informed Bishop Kelshaw by letter that she had accepted his renunciation of the ordained ministry and that he was \u201cdeprived of the right to exercise the gifts and spiritual authority as a minister of God\u2019s word and sacraments.\u201d\u009d The action came after Bishop Kelshaw wrote the Presiding Bishop to inform her that he had left The Episcopal Church.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt means little to me in that I don\u2019t intent to squabble with her over this,\u201d\u009d Bishop Kelshaw said, \u201cbut I did not renounce my orders. I wrote to her last February informing her that I felt called to request alternate primatial oversight and that my request had been granted by Uganda.
