{"id":60125,"date":"2017-05-21T17:00:05","date_gmt":"2017-05-21T21:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=60125"},"modified":"2017-05-21T16:21:47","modified_gmt":"2017-05-21T20:21:47","slug":"bega-distirct-news-tantawangalo-church-facing-closure-in-anglican-parish-vision-for-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kendallharmon.net\/?p=60125","title":{"rendered":"(Bega Distirct News) Tantawangalo church facing closure in Anglican parish vision for future"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tantawangalo\u2019s historic Anglican Church faces closure under a proposal being put to the community next week.<\/p>\n<p>The Sapphire Coast Anglican Parish, which looks after nine churches, is looking at ways to grow its congregation and is proposing to sell St John\u2019s at Tantawangalo and invest all monies into nearby St Peter\u2019s church at Candelo.<\/p>\n<p>The parish has three active churches all within 15km of each other \u2013 Kameruka, Tantawangalo and Candelo \u2013 all built between 1869-1906 when distances were harder to negotiate.<\/p>\n<p>A wooden church at Tantawangalo was first built in 1877 before the current brick building replaced it in 1908<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.begadistrictnews.com.au\/story\/4673526\/tantawangalo-church-facing-closure-in-anglican-parish-vision-for-future\/\">Read it all<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tantawangalo\u2019s historic Anglican Church faces closure under a proposal being put to the community next week.
